Nuwave LLC is one of the top small appliance manufacturer in the US with a lot of happy customers worldwide.
The company was the first to combine infrared, conduction and convection heat by manufacturing NuWave oven. The oven has received numerous awards eight years in a row.
Nuwave Precision Induction cooktop offers a great quality of induction cooking without compromising safety. It is designed and engineered by a team of experts.
There are 52 variable temperature settings with which you can cook and six embedded programmed temperatures.
One very convenient feature of the NuWave induction cooktop is the automatic shutting down of the induction once the cookware is removed from the base. Nowadays, most of the cooktops have this feature builtin.
This prevents unnecessary reaching out for switching it off. It’s a blessing at hand to have this smart technology which does the work for you.
What makes NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop worth buying?
The very first thing which strikes is the round shape which is not very small or large but just right.
This feature further makes portability easier on the consumer.
Cleaning and using it also becomes easier with a lightweight compact round base as all of the space is used up for cooking.
It is pleasing to the eye since excess useless space of four corners is done away with. The round design echos the traditional cooking feel with people gathered around.
One of the main reasons I recommend this cooktop is because of its superior technology of 100 hours memory. This allows you to save and the cooktop to recall your favorite cooking procedures.
Varying cooking time and temperatures – no matter how much complex – can be recorded and repeated at a later date. It’s like a maid at hand prompting, reminding and doing the work for you.
The temperature range that Nuwave Precision Induction Cooktop (PIC) cooktop offers is more than any other cooktop at this budget. This gets it to the top of the list for cooking experts, gourmet cooks, and home cooks.
The digital buttons are a bit away from the heating zone so there is no chance of heating up or spillage on the control panel
The functions on the Control Panel are super easy to understand and operate. There are specific buttons with a good long term memory embedded in the Induction cooktop.
Overall the making and features of the cooktop are user-friendly and innovative.
Now, let’s discuss the product features in detail

What we liked about the NuWave PIC Cooktop
There are no ridges on the cooktop surface making it easy to clean the rounded cooktop. A wet wipe followed by a dry wipe after cooking does the trick.

It has 6 different pre-programmed temperature setting making it easy to choose and cook. It has a wide range of temperature settings from 100-degree Fahrenheit and 575-degree Fahrenheit.
It also has an embedded 100-hour memory with the help of which one can save varying cooking time and temperature.
It boasts of having a sensory intellect because of which the cooktop automatically shuts down if there is no cookware or if cookware is removed from the surface of the cooktop.
It uses up to 70% less energy compared to conventional gas or electric cooktop
All of the rounded cooktops can be used for cooking. It has a big round heated element of 9 inches in diameter. That gives us enough choice for different sizes of cookware that can be used.
12 inches utensil can also be used. The only glitch is that it will take time to heat up the edges but gradually it will heat up all of the cookware.
It heats up instantly and fits a US standard electrical socket.
Air vents are located at the back of the induction allowing excess heat to dispel backside.
Only the place where the cooktop is kept says hot and takes some time to cool down after cooking. The rest of the area remains cool to touch. This is because heat is directly generated into the cooking vessel with the help of alternating current passed to the coil. This current produces a magnetic field in the coil inducing electric current in the cookware.
A good safety feature is that the appliance has a polarised plug which is intended to fill the polarised outlet in one way to reduce the risk of electric shock.
Nuwave PIC offers unique user-friendly functions like pause/clear and delay. With the help of pause/clear button, you can stop or change the program setting at any time during cooking. Cooking can be delayed to start at a later time with the help of delay function.
If there is no cookware kept on top of the cooktop, the induction will beep every 2 seconds. After 1 minute the unit will shut down saving energy.
This device complies with part 18 of the FCC rules.
What’s Not So Great About the NuWave PIC Cooktop
It does not have a child lock safety feature. What this means is it is better to keep children away from the cooktop while cooking.
Only ferromagnetic cookware will work on the smooth base Nuwave cooktop. To put it simply, only induction compatible cookware will work on it. That which can pass the electromagnetic field. To test whether a certain piece of cookware works on the cooktop, simply place a magnet to the bottom of the cookware. If it sticks, it can be used on Nuwave Induction cooktop.

There is no hot and cool indicator after cooking which allows one to clean only after the heating area has cooled down. This is particularly important as some cleaning products emit noxious fumes when applied on a hot surface.
Also, we will have to guess or check if the surface of the heating area has cooled down. I would rather like to see the cool indicator flash for safety.
The display for time setting shows time in hours and minutes but not in seconds.
Since the top surface is made of up of glass, there are chances of breaking/cracking the surface if used roughly. And once it cracks, the cleaning solutions and spills can penetrate inside increasing the risk of electric shock.
The unit will turn off after 45 minutes if no button (such as start) is pressed. Now, this is a pretty long time for the induction to be active with no commands whatsoever. Also in this condition, all previous cooking history will be deleted. It seems to me the point of having 100-hour memory is lost in this case.
Nuwave PIC does have the feature where it shuts down after 1 minute if no cooktop is kept on top. The drawback with this feature is that the unit will continue to emit beep sound even if the cookware is kept on top within the 1-minute window. Usually, with other inductions, the beep or error stops once the cookware is on top. Here pause/clear button or start button has to pressed to stop the noise.
Being small and portable it is difficult to maintain an ideal distance of 1 foot away by ICNIRP from the cooktop to avoid EMF exposure especially if you’re using it in a hostel room or in your RV).
Repair and maintenance can only be done by qualified professionals as the induction involves a complex mechanism. As professional assistance is required, this can be quite heavy on the pocket if broken.
How the Nuwave Precision Induction Cooktop works?
Place the cooktop on a stable level non-metallic surface. Maintain a minimum distance of 3-5 inches from the walls
Do not place the cooktop next to devices which are sensitive to a magnetic field.
To begin cooking place the cookware on the Induction and press start button. Zero should be displayed on the LED display. The Nuwave PIC is preset to cook on High (425 degrees Fahrenheit) for one hour. If another temperature is required one can use the five pre temperature settings of low, medium or max or press + or – to increase or decrease the temperature as 10-degree increments.
For time setting, press the time button once and press + and – for minutes. For hours, press the time button twice and then + and – until the required time is displayed then press start.
There are other function buttons also for ease of the consumer. They are pause/clear button and delay button.
Error codes show in case of wrong cookware, fluctuation in voltage, and overheating of the induction.
Warranty of NuWave PIC Cooktop
Under normal household use, the manufacturer of Nuwave PIC provides a warranty of 1 year from the date of purchase. Under the warranty period, all the parts and labor will be borne by the company.
Once the warranty expires, the company will still correct the issues arising but the spare parts and labor cost will be paid by the consumer.
Nuwave LLC have a good back up and are easy to reach via telephone and email. They take up responsibility and respond quickly when it comes to handling any issues related to the induction.
Nuwave PIC comes with a smart intellect embedded inside it helping the customers store their favorite programs with up to 100 hours memory. This is reason enough to go for this induction. This superior technology far surpasses other cooktops in this range.
Being round shape and compact, it is easy to clean, carry and cook indoors or outdoors.
The time range is also quite large from 1 minute up to 99 hours. This gives the user a window to experiment with a variety of dishes.
Some dishes require sim temperatures for a long duration. With long duration memory enabled in Nuwave PIC, one can slow cook and conveniently forget about it. The timer setting will cease the operation once the time gets over.
This smart technology does all the cooking for you as a guide and friend standing beside you leaving you free to do other things while it takes care of the cooking for you. A gift to self pamper and cherish, this induction is going to make you smile every time.
